When you have the necessary requirements and are looking to book your RYA Yachtmaster Exam, look no further than our prep weeks, We will ensure that you know our boats inside out and that you have sufficient practice in common skills and drills necessary to pass your RYA Yachtmaster exam.

Pre-course experience / requirements

It is essential that you have covered a minimum of 50 days at sea with over 2,500 Nautical Miles covered. You should have completed 5 passages that are at least 60 miles. A minimum of 5 days experience as a skipper including 2 overnight passages. Half of your 2,500 miles should have been in tidal waters.

It is with great pleasure that we can confirm Fuel, Marinas, Accommodation aboard, light meals at sea, Breakfast, Lunch, snacks, and drinks. Course notes & materials are also included in our RYA Yachtmaster Offshore conversion course.

Course Syllabus

Candidates will be trained and then tested to demonstrate knowledge & competence in the following;
International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea, Safety, Boat Handling, General Seamanship including maintenance, responsibilities of a Skipper, Navigation, Meteorology & Signals.

What to bring?

Sailors are exposed to the elements and must always be prepared for the unexpected. Due to limited storage on board, we always recommend you bring lightweight clothing to suit all possible weather scenarios.

Additional Course Information

Before a Yachtmaster Offshore Certificate of Competence can be awarded you will need to hold a VHF Certificate and First Aid Certificate. You can either obtain these before you arrive in Gibraltar or we can arrange for you to take these in Gibraltar before your course. The typical cost of these certificates is £100 for the First Aid course and £100 for the VHF course.
